Job Description

Join us at Torch Technologies, a forefront innovator in tech solutions, as a Temporary Mechanical Engineer. This position is an excellent opportunity to apply education in a real-world setting. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, working alongside experienced engineers on impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teams to solve complex problems.
• Present research and findings in team meetings.
• Work with industry-standard tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with skilled tech professionals, research leads, and industry experts.
• Ability to work a temporary role at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Candidates with an expected graduation date of May 2025may still apply and be considered for the position.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and assembly processes.
• Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software for drafting and modeling mechanical components.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work setting.
• Passion for learning and growing in a tech-driven environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering program or a related field at an accredited university.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design.
• Exposure to machine shop environments, including an understanding of fabrication and machining processes.
