HJF is seeking a Research Associate II to preform research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. May exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies.

This position will be in support of the department of Anatomy, Physiology and Genetics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. The laboratory has been working on blood-based protein biomarkers of various forms of traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic epilepsy and Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. The program has been supported by grants from NINDS, CDMRP and DoD, and provides objective, molecular diagnostics and system biology level interpretation of disease associated changes in the blood proteome.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research activities; biomarker assays, data analysis and interpretation of the currently funded research programs.
  • Write progress reports, research articles, abstracts, presentations
  • Conducts data analysis and interpretation in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of protein biomarker analysis and interpretation using various analytical platforms
  • Knowledge of traumatic brain injury clinical and non-clinical studies
  • Ability to meet deadlines of projects
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 public trust investigation

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$66,500. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
