Who we are and what we do: The Department of Safety and Homeland Security's mission is to serve, secure and protect the people of Tennessee. The Tennessee Office of Homeland Security has the primary responsibility and authority for directing statewide activities pertaining to the prevention of, and protection from, terrorist related events. This responsibility includes the development and implementation of a comprehensive and coordinated strategy to secure the state from terrorist threats and attacks. Furthermore, the Office of Homeland Security serves as a liaison between federal, state and local agencies, and the private sector on matters relating to the security of our state and citizens. Job Overview: This position serves in the Office of Homeland Security's Threat Assessment Center and is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and reporting threats to life, health, and safety to citizens and infrastructure across the state of Tennessee as part of the Homeland Security Threat Assessment Center, a 24/7/365 operation. This position reports to a Homeland Security Supervisory Special Agent and is required to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in law enforcement, homeland security, intelligence analysis, or other related field may be substituted for the required education. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance from the federal Department of Homeland Security.
