Job Summary

As a Software Engineer in Test in the Storage Firmware team in the Core Storage Engineering (CSE) organization, you will work as part of a highly skilled team responsible for the research and development of embedded software used in NetApp storage products. The team is focused on enabling high-capacity, high-performance SAS and NVMe based storage I/O modules and disk shelves. Your focus will be on system testing, including automated and manual testing. You will participate in all aspects of product lifecycles for new storage products as well as enhancements to existing NetApp storage products. Some of the products the Storage Firmware team has helped deliver include disk shelves for NetApp AFF & FAS systems such as the NS224, DS224C DS212C, and DS460C.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the development and test teams to identify, develop and execute test cases as well as developing test scripts and maintaining test automation tools and infrastructure
  • Follow standard engineering best practices while contributing to the full development life cycle including architecture, design, code, review, validation, test planning, testing, and support
  • Participate in technical discussions with direct team members and with cross-functional team members
  • Work individually and as a collaborative member of the team
  • Work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals
Job Requirements
  • Ability to perform software System Testing and White Box Testing
  • Excellent scripting skills (Python, PERL, Linux Scripting, etc.)
  • Experience in Software Verification or Software Quality Assurance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage in critical and/or high visibility customer support cases
  • Strong team mentality with desire and ability to work well both intra-team and cross-functionally with other teams (other verification team, development, customer support, program management, etc.)
  • Experience developing in Windows and Linux platforms
  • Willingness to learn new skills working with real time operating systems, embedded systems, networking, and storage protocols such as SAS, NVMe, SCSI and SATA
Education

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 105,995 - 157,740 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
