Daikin Applied is seeking a Service Technician - VRV. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited VRV's with possible work on large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Atlanta, GA. - Onsite

What you will do:



  • Perform Start Up and Commissioning: Verify functionality of new VRV systems and repair any malfunctioning equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.
  • Conduct Technician Training: Communicate your knowledge of VRV systems to other technicians and customers as needed.
  • Perform maintenance of HVAC unitary and applied equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication.
  • Perform troubleshooting, intermediate independent & supported diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of CAT II equipment.
  • Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring including, but not limited to VRV/VRF and CAT II and III equipment: VFDs, boilers, electrical and refrigerant circuits, screw, scroll, and reciprocal compressors, rooftop systems up to 150 tons, and scroll chillers up to 200 tons.
  • Beginner-Intermediate level proficiency in independent troubleshooting of CAT II and III equipment. Introduction to centrifugal chillers and CAT I equipment.
  • Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality related to scroll chillers, rooftop units up to 150 tons, and all Category II and III equipment.
  • Perform start up by verifying functionality of new CAT II & III equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.
  • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
  • Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
  • Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
  • Potential travel requirements with some overnight travel

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians.
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
  • Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $48.90 in Georgia. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
