This position is site and requires a presence on-site three days per week.

The Sr. Director, Supply Chain Planning will manage the planning team to ensure reliable product supply to a global patient population. The planning team is responsible for converting forecasts into production plans that provide optimal inventories and incorporate effective contingencies for appropriate risks and initiatives. The planning team also supports effective and efficient execution with detailed and highly responsive demand and production planning activities for Finished Goods & Drug Product. This position will recommend and maintain inventory and safety stock strategies and support the transition of clinical products to and post commercialization.

A successful candidate for this role is a highly analytical and experienced leader with the ability to lead through development of world class processes (including, but not limited to Sales and Operations Planning). This role will lead the organization to ensure business plans are translated into clear, transparent inventory strategies agreed by all key upstream stakeholders and provide clear requirements to Manufacturing and other operational departments. The Sr. Director of Supply Chain Planning will have the profound ability to direct a team of supply chain professionals to deliver world class product availability and working capital management.

Essential Functions



  • Develop strategic and operational production plans for commercial and clinical supply through a 5 year + horizon that considers demand from commercial and/or clinical products, internal and external supply capacities, product launches, technical transfers, and regulatory filings. These production plans must provide insight to multiple scenarios of demand, supply, inventories, development and approval timelines, and be developed with support from multiple functional groups.
  • Develop skill sets and leadership ability of the Supply Chain Planning team through mentoring, technical and business training, and challenging assignments that build confidence and demonstrate the team's ability to make significant contributions to Technical Operations and Lantheus.
  • Develop and lead a recurring SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) and Executive SIOP (ESIOP) process, ensuring cross-functional alignment and visibility across demand, supply, inventory, and financial targets.
  • Through the monthly planning cycle provide comprehensive and highly executional production plans for each production level of Finished Goods & Drug Product for operational teams. Ensure that recommended plans demonstrate detailed analysis, include effective mitigation plans, and thorough vetting with constituent groups.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate drug substance, drug product and finished good inventory levels, while minimizing excess and obsolescence's.
  • Support ad hoc modelling of various supply scenarios as necessary with quick turn-around, extremely high accuracy, well vetted and documented assumptions, and that are readily supportable by the team.
  • Develop process metrics for Supply Planning that measure effectiveness towards achieving goals, provide ready visibility to improvement opportunities, and track progress of improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement optimization strategies for Inventory Management, Cycle Time Improvement, Make to Stock, Make to Order and Production Frequencies.
  • Identify opportunities and inefficiencies, and establish and implement globally aligned, end to end supply chain planning best practices that ensure continuous supply of product and support global business initiatives.
  • Actively promotes safety rules and awareness. Always demonstrates good safety practices including the appropriate use of protective equipment. Reports and takes initiative to correct safety & environmental hazards.
  • Champion system-driven planning processes, leveraging ERP and advanced planning tools (e.g., SAP, IBP, OMP) to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy.


Typical Minimum Skills and Experience and Education



  • BS/BA degree required, advanced degree preferred and 15+ years in a fast-paced environment with of progressive experience in manufacturing, inventory, or supply chain management in a related life sciences discipline or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated negotiations and relationship management skills in driving accountability and consistent achievement of deliverables.
  • Proven experience in full product lifecycle management from clinical development through commercial launch in the pharmaceutical industry, including integration of new assets into existing portfolios and successful planning leadership during new company integrations.
  • Solid leadership skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment required. Expertise in computerized systems such as SAP, IBP, and MS Office suite required for scheduling and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet all deadlines.
  • Experience working within a GMP environment, preferably pharmaceutical or radio-pharmaceutical environment. International supply chain and procurement experience preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Lean sigma and project management certification preferred


Other Requirements



  • Non-routine overnight travel based on business need.
