Local Class A Driver

Schedule & Compensation:

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, starting at 4:30 AM. End time is based on route completion (averaging 45 hours per week).

• Pay: $25 - $27/hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a tractor-trailer on a dedicated local route using manual transmission equipment.

• Opportunity to receive training on Roll-Off trucks.

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.

• Read and follow route sheets; service customers as scheduled or directed by dispatch.

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment.

• Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, often without a helper.

• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Climb in and out of the truck cab up to 40+ times per day.

• Maintain courteous, professional interactions with customers.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Extensive physical activity and exposure to various weather conditions.

• Work includes frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as exposure to fumes, vibrations, and moderate noise levels.

• Physical risks due to moving mechanical parts; adherence to safety protocols is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

• Minimum 2 years of Class A driving experience, including experience with manual transmissions and 53' trailers.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Stable work history (at least 2 years in the most recent position).

• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Compliance with DOT regulations.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

• Basic mechanical knowledge for pre- and post-trip inspections.
