Schedule: Monday - Friday, starting at 4:30 AM. End time is based on route completion (averaging 45 hours per week). Pay: $25 - $27/hour, depending on experience. Benefits: Comprehensive family benefits, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and more!
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a tractor-trailer on a dedicated local route using manual transmission equipment. Opportunity to receive training on Roll-Off trucks. Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. Read and follow route sheets; service customers as scheduled or directed by dispatch. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment. Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, often without a helper. Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Climb in and out of the truck cab up to 40+ times per day. Maintain courteous, professional interactions with customers. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Extensive physical activity and exposure to various weather conditions. Work includes frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as exposure to fumes, vibrations, and moderate noise levels. Physical risks due to moving mechanical parts; adherence to safety protocols is required.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Minimum 2 years of Class A driving experience, including experience with manual transmissions and 53' trailers. High school diploma or GED required. Stable work history (at least 2 years in the most recent position). Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Basic mechanical knowledge for pre- and post-trip inspections.
