Head of Vision Care Sales Training

Core Job Responsibilities:
* Ensures field force has the skills, knowledge and competencies (e.g. product knowledge, selling skills, selling process and using selling tools) to win against competition in accordance with field force development pathway
* Consistently increases the field force's skills, knowledge and competencies over time to create the best field force in the industry.
* Ensures field force is able to consistently execute core selling processes (e.g. Account Planning, Field Coaching) using selling tools and systems (e.g. CRM and Analytics tools)
* Ensures that the needs of key leadership stakeholders are met
* Interacts with customers and holds co-travels to assess training programs
* Effectively recruits, interviews, hires and trains training managers
* Ensures on-going assessment of sales force and sales management teams through the successful implementation and execution of training programs
* Works collaboratively with Sales leadership and Training Managers to create a continuous improvement culture and share best practice
* Monitors training programs and manuals to ensure that they are effective and up-to-date and makes updates as necessary
* Ensures the best tools and approaches are used for each training to maximize impact and minimize cost (e.g. online vs. face to face/ internal vs. out-sourced training resources)
* Coordinates the support of new product launches
* Monitors and evaluates training program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and prepares reports on them.
* Accountable for leading all Talent Management and Talent development in their group working to build a pipeline of future Alcon leaders
* Manages training budget
* Ensures personal development and certification is achieved through the completion of educational and skill development courses available through organization.
* Participate on Senior Sales Leadership team (US SSLT) to interface with all aspects of the Contact Lens & Lens Care Business to assist in the development of field strategy, deployment and programs to attain company goals.

Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
* Self-motivated and able to work well with others
* Team leader with high ethical standards
* Experience designing and implementing curricula preferred
* Fluency in English essential Knowledge/Fluency of at least one other language preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree orequivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience

  • 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
