This position reports to

Business Health, Safety & Env Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.
The work model for the role is: ONSITE
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Facilitates HSE risk assessment conducted by the line management and ensures all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented; Reports HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and takes appropriate actions.
* Facilitates, assists, and provides guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks; Provides feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB.
* Supports the HSE Manager in reporting progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as required; Assists the line managers and supervisors in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE laws and group/business-specific requirements.
* Supports and drives behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices; Supports and embeds an exemplary health and safety culture with a strong focus on the environment across their respective organization.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor degree, preferred PLUS minimum 2 years HSE experience OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 4 years related experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 6 years experience
  • Able to work 2nd shift position 3:30pm-12:00am
  • Certification and training in Safety, preferred
  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations, preferred
  • Skills in data base management systems and MS Office, preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
