SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead healthcare design and construction projects from conception through closeout. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in architecture (Master's degree preferred) and have a minimum of twelve years of relevant experience. This role requires expertise in budget development, scope identification and management, schedule management, cost and financial management, risk identification and management, procurement and bidding, contract administration, and resource management. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to mentor staff, along with both technical and interpersonal skills to ensure the successful delivery of complex healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Conception and Planning:



  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and solutions.


Budget Development and Financial Management:



  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement cost-control measures to prevent overruns.
  • Oversee financial management, including cash flow and forecasting.


Scope and Schedule Management:



  • Define and document project scope, ensuring alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking milestones and deadlines.
  • Address scope changes and schedule delays proactively, implementing corrective actions as needed.


Procurement and Bidding:



  • Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee bidding processes to ensure competitive and transparent selection of contractors and suppliers.


Contract Administration:



  • Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Review and approve change orders, invoices, and other contractual documents.


Risk Identification and Management:



  • Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and adjust plans accordingly.


Resource Management:



  • Allocate and manage resources effectively to meet project demands.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare professionals.


Communication and Stakeholder Management:



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.


Mentorship and Leadership:



  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Lead project teams with a focus on collaboration, motivation, and achieving project goals.


Construction Oversight and Quality Control:



  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Address construction issues promptly, ensuring resolution without compromising project goals.


Project Closeout:



  • Oversee final inspections and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and warranties.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in architecture (required); Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management for healthcare design and construction projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility design standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
