Brand Strategy Advisor (Hybrid)

Primary Accountabilities

• Ecosystem Engagement:
  • Design and implement innovative branding and marketing strategiesto enhance the visibility and reputation of AFV and The Institute within the VC marketplace.
  • Cultivate relationships with important venture capitalecosystem partners, identifying and leveraging opportunities for impactful engagement.
• Social Media Strategy:
  • Develop a compelling social media strategy that inspires meaningful engagement, amplifies brand awareness, and reaches target audiences across relevant platforms.
• Events Strategy:
  • Collaborate with our Branding and Events Specialist to conceptualize and coordinate a strategic calendar of firm-sponsored events (both physical and digital) designed to achieve specific brand goals.
  • Partner with our Branding and Events Specialist to Coordinate AFV's presence at important industry events (e.g., ITC) to maximize brand impact and networking opportunities.
• LP Reporting:
  • Collaborate to collate comprehensive financial and operational reports that effectively communicate fund performance and strategy to Limited Partners.
• Portfolio Support:
  • Provide storytelling and design strategic guidance to portfolio companies in developing pitch decks, including narrative development and visually compelling design.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, preferably within the venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or technology industries.
• Experience developing successful brand strategies that deliver measurable results.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating professional quality,visually compelling marketing collateral, designs and presentations.
• Experience with the startup ecosystem, venture capital investment stages, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with all partners.
• Experience working in a startup environment is a plus, but not required.
• Prior financial analysis and modeling experience is a plus, but not required.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles)--Madison, WI, New York, NY, or Chicago, IL. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
