Position Overview
At Cox Media Group (CMG), our Agency Media Specialists are outside sales representatives who build innovative cross platform advertising solutions, implement effective marketing campaigns, and develop strong relationships and business partnerships with regional advertising agencies. The Agency Media Specialist reports directly to the General Sales Manager (GSM) and coordinates closely with the National Sales Manager (NSM). The Agency Media Specialist collaborates with our Sales Support Teams to leverage data that identifies consumer insights, sales strategy and execution plans for cross platform (audio & digital) campaigns. Candidates must be extremely proactive, organized, detail oriented, time efficient, entrepreneurial, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and expand agency relationships; connect with qualified prospects via these agencies at buyer, planner and supervisor levels.
- Identify and establish relationships with qualified prospects in new regional agencies.
- Actively engage with agency prospects/clients outside to the office to drive opportunities.
- Create in-person/face-to-face opportunities to grow relationships that enhance the potential for higher share on annual deals or help turnaround at-risk partnerships.
- Uncover desired business results for prospects/clients and create unique proposals and solutions based on client needs.
- Discuss expectations and measurements with agency prospects and clients to ensure timely execution of purchased products and that the proposed solution will deliver ROI.
- Consult agency clients on all CMG solutions and offerings, while demonstrating a deep understanding of product capabilities measurement, attribution and KPIs.
- Accountable for being a product expert by learning and selling fully integrated advertising solutions utilizing our full suite of audio and digital products.
- Present opportunities outside of RFPs.
- Increase revenue through the fulfillment and upselling of current agency clients and through obtaining new agency business.
- Deliver Proof of Posting and other required fulfillment to clients.
- Continue to report on, evaluate and manage agency customers' integrated campaigns to achieve their key marketing objectives.
- Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable.
- Responsible for revenue generation and must meet or exceed sales goals as outlined by GSM.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of prior experience selling Digital, Event, and Radio solutions to Regional Advertising Agencies required.
- Extensive knowledge of the related industries and how digital products and services help drive consumer engagement.
- Experience in responding to RFPs with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required.
- Proven ability to handle complex work, maintain astute attention to detail, and manage and organize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation in order to perform outside sales activities
- Possess strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office. Wide Orbit traffic software experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Reputable within the electronic media and digital advertising industry.
- Strong understanding of search marketing (SEO/SEM), targeted display/ video, retargeting, and mobile marketing.
