Fabric Architect / Team Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microsoft Fabric Architect to lead the design, transformation, and implementation of our enterprise data environment using Microsoft Fabric and Azure. This role is critical in accelerating process automation, enabling near real-time analytics, providing self-service insights, and integrating machine learning and GenAI capabilities across SAP and non-SAP data sources. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex Data Analytics solutions. As a Fabric Architect / Team Lead, you will lead a team of skilled engineers and collaborate with stakeholders to drive our cloud data strategy and ensure the successful delivery of innovative and scalable Fabric solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of Fabric engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Provide guidance on best practices, technical solutions, and career development for team members.
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.

2. Architectural Design

• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud architectures using Microsoft Fabric services, with a strong understanding of when to use Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, SQL Database, Eventhouse, Data Factory, Spark Notebooks, and other Fabric entities based on specific use cases and requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture designs, deployment processes, and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and approaches to enhance our Fabric capabilities.

3. Solution Implementation

• Oversee the deployment of Fabric solutions, including infrastructure, applications, and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Fabric solutions with existing systems and processes.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to security, compliance, and performance standards.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Utilize Fabric and Azure monitoring tools to track performance, identify issues, and optimize the performance of cloud solutions.
• Implement best practices for cost management and resource utilization to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of Fabric services.

6. Security and Compliance

• Ensure that all Fabric solutions are designed and implemented with a focus on security, compliance, and data protection.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends and Fabric features to proactively address potential vulnerabilities.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Fabric-based solutions.
• Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the team, encouraging ongoing learning and professional development.

Technical Skills

Data Management:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, SQL Database, Eventhouse, Data Factory, Spark Notebooks, and other Fabric entities, with a deep understanding of their appropriate use cases.
• Knowledge of data migration and integration tools like Azure Data Factory and Fabric Dataflows.
• Previous experience in Azure/AWS/Cloud Data Engineering.
• Nice to have: Experience with Azure Synapse Data Engineering.

Technologies:

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, Data Pipelines (Azure/Fabric), and Dataflow.
• Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.

DevOps and CI/CD (Preferred):

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering/data analytics, with at least 5 years of experience specifically with Microsoft Azure data engineering and familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.
* Leadership:Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex projects.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
