Our Eating Disorder treatment center in Oconomowoc, WI offers Inpatient and Residential care (24/7 acute) for adults. Our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, psychologists, therapists, dietitians, and mental health technicians are committed to providing compassionate, effective care for individuals facing eating disorders and co-occurring conditions such as OCD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma.
Responsibilities for onsite role:
- Responsibilities include ensuring the quality and sustainability of the medical and clinical services of the eating disorder program(s) in collaboration with the Associate and/or Senior Medical Directors as well as clinical and operational leadership.
- Administrative duties are 6 hours per week for one program.
- Guides the implementation of quality initiatives.
- Builds an environment of team-based multidisciplinary care that fosters a culture of respect and well-being for patients and staff alike.
- Leadership of medical staff team huddles/meetings to ensure thorough communication between team members while providing avenues for information distribution from a system level.
- Assist with admission screenings for the program as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring the program has medical staff scheduled for evenings, weekends, and holiday call coverage. Participate in recruitment of medical staff for the program(s).
- Participate in profession/ media/ community/ outreach efforts to promote Rogers' expertise in the eating disorder specialty. (May include but not limited to: Conference Attendance, Speaking Engagements, Community Partner Meetings)
- On-call: Joining a pool of psychiatrists and other providers covering the needs of our inpatient units
- With a focus of providing quality evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary team setting, the attending psychiatrist is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, determining diagnoses, completing appropriate exams as needed, and prescribing medications for patients with eating disorders and other related or comorbid psychiatric conditions. The psychiatrist is a critical part of encouraging patients to be active participants in their treatment via education, and on-going communication.
- Average daily visits for the Medical Director clinical responsibilities is 8-10 patients. Patients admitted to the inpatient level of care are seen daily, while patients admitted to the residential level of care are typically seen 2-3 per week.
- Complete all required documentation thoroughly and within the expected time.
- Collaboration with clinical and operational team members via huddles, special staffings, advocating for patient needs, communicating with family members/identified support individuals as appropriate, utilization review activities and outside providers for treatment progress updates and discharge planning.
Additional Job Description: Education/Training Requirements:
- Valid state licensure as MD / DO.
- Board-eligible psychiatrist. Board certification preferred.
- Leadership and/ or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization is preferred.
- Experience with process improvement implementation preferred.
