The Role: Cloud Network Architect

Juniper Networks has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective, and self-motivated Cloud Network Architect with a focus on networking for AI, within the Cloud Systems Engineering Organization.

The Architect role is our most senior Systems Engineering technical position, equivalent to a Director level. Architects are part of the Juniper GTM (Go-to-Market) Team and have a primary responsibility to partner with the CTO office, Product Management, and Engineering to drive technical sales activities for opportunities in forward-looking and emerging technologies, as well as new network evolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CTO office, Product Management, and Engineering to lead technical sales for emerging technologies and network evolutions.
• Represent Juniper in industry presentations and standardization activities (e.g., IETF, NANOG).
• Engage with AI architects and leaders at top Cloud organizations such as Amazon, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and X.ai.
• Provide expert insight into Cloud network infrastructure, including AI cloud networking, hyper-scale data centers, and cloud/SP backbones.
• Leverage relationships with Cloud architects and leadership to advance Juniper's position.

Required Expertise:

• A minimum of 9 years' experience in a technical or pre-sales role.
• Proven experience designing and consulting on Cloud hyper-scale data centers, cloud/SP scale backbones, and networking for AI.
• Deep knowledge of Juniper products, competitive solutions, and vertical market use cases.
• Hands-on expertise with networking technologies across routing and switching domains.
• Mastery of routing protocols (e.g., IGPs, EGPs, Layer-2/3 VPNs).
• Extensive experience in datacenter and WAN design (e.g., EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, BGP).
• Familiarity with SONiC and open-source networking platforms.
• Hands-on experience with hardware and software from vendors such as Juniper, Arista, Cisco, Nokia, and Broadcom, including ASIC architectures.
• Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Expertise:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure).
• Experience in AI data center and network design.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE).

Minimum Salary: $284,000.00

Maximum Salary:$408,250.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $284,000.00 and $408,250.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
