Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid position, reporting to our office in Denver, CO.

The primary responsibility is to oversee the entire building commissioning process, ensuring all systems within a building function according to the original design, leading to optimized energy efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, and improved indoor air quality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review work of and provide training/mentoring for junior staff
  • Complete and review tasks required for LEED, ASHRAE, Title 24, code and other green building rating system commissioning services for new and existing buildings.
  • Prepare and provide written observation reports, test results, and findings with recommended actions to the Contractor, the A/E Design Team, the Owner and the Owner's Representative and other necessary representatives.
  • Manage clients, projects and team communication regarding project status and routine activities. Including regular site visits, as necessary, to observe component and document component system installations.
  • Prepare proposals for new commissioning projects with department manager and marketing.
  • Conduct and participate in design and construction meetings to identify design intent, and compliance with established criteria.
  • Conduct & document functional performance testing of sub-systems, systems, and interactions between systems.
  • Prepare, review, and submit documents to finalize commission process.
  • Serves in a leadership role in a technical or industry professional organization.
  • Attends meetings and presents professional papers/gives presentations at local or national conferences in area of expertise.
  • Travel will be required for this position

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
  • PE License
  • BCxA, ASHRAE, or ACG commissioning related credentials

OR

  • If no degree, 15 years of relevant experience AND
  • BCxA ASHRAE, or ACG commissioning related credentials

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience with monitor-based commissioning (SkySpark)
  • Client management experience
  • LEED AP certification
  • Professional Engineering license

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
