This position provides secretarial and clerical support services for the Nursing Division. Provides staffing support for all clinical areas and is a superuser for scheduling. Performs bed placement functions to maintain efficient inpatient flow.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) EXPERIENCE: 1. 1 year direct patient care or administrative experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Continuously monitor bed availability, utilizing bed management systems to identify available beds and anticipate upcoming discharges. 2. Assign patients to appropriate beds based on their medical condition, acuity level, and required care needs. 3. Collaborate with nursing staff, other healthcare providers, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient transfers, discharges, and updates on bed availability. 4. Track key metrics of patient flow, bed utilization, and wait times to identify areas of improvement. 5. Efficiently address challenges related to bed availability and patient placement. 6. Assists with staffing and operations of the flex unit. 7. Performs bed placement functions to maintain efficient inpatient flow. 8. Monitors morgue capacity while working with funeral homes and Coroner's office to ensure timely removals. 9. Starts death certificates in EVITALS and communicates with appropriate personnel to ensure efficient completion of death certificates. 10. Utilizes system scheduling capabilities in all work completed in the staffing office. Provides education and assistance to Directors and Supervisors in scheduling. 11. Maintains clerical supplies to meet the needs of the department within the established budget.
