Ophthalmic Technician - Part Time - Encinitas

This is a benefited, part time position, with 8-hour day shifts anytime between 7am and 5pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Scripps Clinic Encinitas. May float to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities include:

* Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.

* Educates patients and documents patient interactions.

* Practices infection control.

* Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.

* Managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory

Required Qualifications:

• Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology.
• Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred.
• Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
• Ability to scribe.
• Experience using Epic.
