In order to be considered for this position candidate must be a permanent Management Auditor Trainee or, reachable on the Open -Competitive List Exam #1106 for Management Auditor Trainee, or be eligible under the 55a program.

Parking Operations is seeking to hire a capable, confident, and dedicated Management Auditor Trainee reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations Review Unit. The Operations Review Unit is responsible for conducting operational assessments of Parking Operations, Planning and Analysis (POPA) Units and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Operations Review, the Management Auditor Trainees will assist in conducting operational analysis of programs, functions, operations and management's systems and procedures within Parking Operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
-Assist in evaluating systems of internal control to ensure that programs and objectives are accomplished effectively and efficiently.
-Assist in conducting testing, preparing workpapers, documenting findings and observations, and providing recommendations.
-Assist in preparing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manuals and workflow diagrams of the processes.
-Conduct interviews and walkthroughs and prepare related documentation.
-Assist in coordinating internal/external audit requirements.
-Liaison between different work groups to schedule meetings.
The candidate must be a highly motivated individual with demonstrated excellent interpersonal, multitasking abilities and MS Suite proficiencies.
POPA is a multi-tasked, revenue generating operation of the Department of Transportation. Revenue in the forms of coins, cash, credit cards, checks and pre-paid debit cards are generated annually in excess of $257 million. Additionally, the Bureau's assets; meters, permits, keys, vehicles, security related business products, database and inventory systems, personnel, equipment of value in excess of $90 million must be evaluated and protected against risk.

"This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37".

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 24 credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting, auditing, and cost accounting.

Preferred Skills

1.Ability to understand business process and provide recommendations for improvement.
2.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Visio.
3.Excellent verbal and writing skills, and auditing skills.
