Responsibilities
- The Surgical Technologist provides patient care by cleaning, processing and sterilization of the instruments.
- The Surgical Technologist demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- The Surgical Technologist is responsible and accountable in performing as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique.
- The Surgical Technologist contributes to expected patient outcomes in accordance with policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. Surgical Technologist position requires call.
- The Central sterile tech must have knowledge of all sterile processing chemicals. Central Sterile Processing Technician minimum job requirements include: sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive).
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are needed. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
- Must have the ability to lift/push/pull greater than 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- National Surgical Tech License
- BLS
Preferred Job Requirements
- Vocational Training in related field
- 1 year of Surgical Tech experience
